French Lick

Andrea is so thoughtful...she brought us Cheez-its! (I ate the whole box!) Thanks, Andrea!
Mark didn't have as big of an appetite as me... check out the HUGE appetizer he got when we went out to dinner!

Golf trip2

We had a great time at the French Lick resort this weekend! The course was beautiful, and after all of the strokes we took, it turned out to be a great value!

Adventures

So here we are in cloudy California, on a crisp, windy, 62 degree day. We just checked into the hotel, but it's too cold to swim. Maybe we'll hit the hot tub later, but for now Mark is checking in at the conference, and I'm left alone in the hotel room to relax after a long day of traveling.

Aaahhh...

Some of my favorite pictures ever taken include a Cheez-it box, so I thought I'd make my newly-purchased-from-the-gas-n-sip box pose for a few.

Here's my Cheez-it box posing with the bedside table and Bible. I've also posted an etherial shot of my Cheez-it box looking out over the pool. I wonder what she's thinking???

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone! We took a few pics of us all dressed up for Easter Mass. Don't we look cute? R actually got to do the reading and the petitions today. He was a little nervous, but you couldn't tell! He did a fantastic job...just like we knew he would. We are so proud! J just celebrated his first reconciliation, and soon I'll be posting pics here from his first communion, which is just a few weeks away!
We missed being with our family today, but we did get to spend time with some good friends and had an Easter feast! It was delicious, and we enjoyed the time together.
God Bless! Alleluia!

Here is an old video my friends and I made when we graduated from 9th grade in 1988. I am one of the little 7th graders in the interview. Ha!

Face Paint

Face paint fun at the HPE International Festival. J didn't go for it, but R and I got ourselves fixed up! *grin* There were tons of people everywhere...the school was packed! I'm eager to hear how successful the fund-raising was, and eager to find out if I won the silent auction!

Face Paint 2

R got his face painted by his teacher. He was so happy with the baseball and bat she did on his left cheek, that he went back a little later for a cloud and lightning bolt. Is he happy b/c of the face paint, the pizza, the can of sprite, the bounce houses, the DJ, the games, or the cotton candy?

Beautiful Lady

Yes, we got to the Ben Folds concert early, and got to relax by this beautiful lady in the lounge. She's at The Murat in Indy, if you want to meet her.

Handsome Man

Mark and the handsome dude we met before the concert.

Spring???

Karen and I went for a walk today at Ritchie Woods...and we found flowers! Yippee! Maybe spring isn't too far away after all!

Obviously this is an old picture. Taken this summer at the Monon Center in Carmel. It was warm, sunny, beautiful weather. Aah... We can hardly wait for summer to roll around again! This 20* weather is awful!

Valentines Day!

Mark took us out to for dinner and to see the symphony for Valentine's Day. How romantic!

Here's a pic of the stage from our outing on Friday the 13th. What a lovely day to celebrate Valentine's Day! Mark took us to see the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Michael Feinstein sang and played the piano wonderfully. Though we were horribly outnumbered by people twice our age, we really had fun. 4th row seats, too! Thanks for a great night, honey!

Baby J's Birthday Bike

Tomorrow is my baby boy's 8th birthday. Eight! Already! How does this happen? He picked out a new bike for his present from Mark and me. It's red and black and has a kickstand. He was hilarious to watch when picking out his bike.

The two of us headed to Wal-Mart after mass, and we looked at their bike selection. We started looking at the 16" size, and realized that was the same as the size he has now, and had training wheels. Yikes!

He moved up to the 18" bikes, but there was only one he liked there. It still had training wheels, and it didn't have a kickstand.

No kickstand? No problem, I said. We'll buy one and Daddy can attach it. Seemed reasonable to me. But, a bike with no kickstand wouldn't do for J. He had three very specific things he wanted in his new bike. One: no training wheels. Two: a water bottle. Three: a kickstand.

We kept looking and found a cool red bike that was 20" and had a kickstand and a water bottle holder with a matching water bottle! He rode it up and down the aisle of the store, trying it out and swerving all over the place. That's when I decided to get him a helmet, too. We found one that matched and came with a visor and had 3 stars. Apparently, the 3 stars made it official enough for J, so even though he initially insisted that he did not need a helmet, he allowed me to purchase it anyway. Now if I can just be sure he'll wear it when I'm not looking!

Happy Birthday, J!

Boys are so weird.

Being the mom of boys is so weird.

Here's a close-up of J's foot. He wanted me to post a pic of his toenails before we cut them. I thought I'd show off his nicely-trimmed toenails instead.

Now, I know I have to take some blame and be the "bad mommy" because J's only 8 (tomorrow!) and he doesn't quite cut his own toenails yet. I understand that, but his toenails were ridiculously long. Disgustingly long. Like, "might as well keep growing them and see if they can get longer than that guy's in China" long. But, ultimately, the nails had to go.

J was so proud, he and R tried talking me into putting the clippings in a neat little row on the bathroom counter and posting a picture of them. They thought that was the greatest idea ever. *slaps forehead*

Boys are so weird.

IU

Indiana University. Wright Quad - Todd house entrance off of the fire lane. This the way we went up to our rooms in Ruter House most often. The boys and I went down to Bloomington on MLK day and I wanted to share a couple of my favorite places.

Karen and my apartment building in Bloomington. High quality digs, eh?

Lip gloss at Claire's

Now I consider myself a true Cheez-It fan. They are my favorite snack, and have been for years. But Cheez-It flavored lip gloss? Not even I think that sounds good...
