Some things are just not right...part deux!

Okay, I meant to include this pic in the original Target sack & election sticker post... But here it is, FINALLY.

WHAT??? Seriously? Really?

We don't even make our own American Flag pins?

Balloons

Apparrently the view of the flatlands in central Indiana is beautiful from WAY up high. Recently, we've had balloons pass right over our house and land nearby. This fall, we've had as many as 15 in one week that I've noticed. We took these pics from our front yard and from the edge of our neighborhood. It looks like they landed in a recently-tilled cornfield! (Do we have cornfields in Indiana??)

Corn? Maybe it used to be soybeans. I can't remember.

Some things are just not right...

On November 4th, I did my patriotic duty...I stood in a LONG line at 6:35 AM in the cold (at least it wasn't raining!) to get the chance to vote. I walked out excited that I was part of such an incredible election. Then, the election results came out and I realized...

I stood in line for
2 hours and 20 minutes
to vote for John McCain and
all I got was this sticker???

Then, I went to the grocery store. I got the week's groceries, and my kids saw the reusable bags. 99 cents! At their urging, I put 4 of the bags on the belt, and then starting sorting my coupons. Before I knew it, the clerk was done ringing me up, and I paid.

Loading the bags into the trunk of the car, I didn't notice anything. Carrying them into the house, it still didn't register. Then I looked at the pile of bags and saw...

What??? Why buy the reuseable bags and then send them home EMPTY in a PLASTIC bag???

Some things are just not right...

Classic Beauty

I posted pics of Dad, now it's Mom's turn! In the first two pics, my Mom is the youngest. Isn't she a cutie?

Sadly, I need to scan more photos... Check back again soon!

Family pics

My parents gave me a box of pictures. Tons of family pictures - both sides of the family, from recent to years long past. Some of my favorite pictures from my Dad's side are here.

My dad is the sweet little boy in these pictures...

My dear "Bapa" (see earlier post) is pictured with him (above and right). The beauty and clarity of these black and white photos is remarkable. I love working with photos of this quality - and these subjects!

Doesn't my Dad look cool?

I wish I had a bike like that.

How about that hat?
My Dad is sporting the goggles.

Happy Halloween!

I saw a dear friend the other day in the parking lot outside of Target, and she reminded me to do an update, so here goes!

Halloween, WOW! What a fun time. Remember when we were in college and it was just fun to dress up and go out and drink? Well, now that we've got kiddos, the holiday takes on a whole new meaning...

Unfortunately, for my kiddos, who are now 2nd and 4th grade, they don't really care about their costume anymore, and they don't want their parents tagging along with them while they scope the neighborhood for candy. *sigh*

So, this year, a friend took her son and our boys to trick or treat, and we sat in the driveway of our "E.T" - like neighborhood and passed out candy. It was fun, but I have to admit that I was a little sad that the boys didn't want us to go along. They were both dressed as football players - wearing their uniforms from our church league. They just wanted candy...not really concerned about dressing up anymore.

Here's the best part - Mark and I went to a costume party over the weekend. We weren't concerned about the candy anymore - just worried about our costumes! Mark dressed as a Monk, and I dressed as Sarah Palin. We looked awesome, if I say so myself... and we got NO CANDY but didn't care!

Eventually the chaos died down around here and the boys fell asleep watching a movie. I got on the computer and tried to find some fun pics of Halloweens past to share, and here's what I found!

Peace to you all!
